Commercial Tiling | Hospitality Refurbishment | Witney, Oxfordshire
ADKB completed an extensive commercial tiling project for Cornish Bakery in Witney, Oxfordshire, delivering a combination of decorative floor tiling, feature wall tiling and bespoke counter finishes as part of the bakery’s interior refurbishment.
The installation brings together contrasting black and white marble-effect floor tiles, warm terracotta-coloured wall tiles and distinctive white textured counter tiling, creating a coordinated finish throughout the premises.
The Project
The project involved tiling several key areas of the bakery, each requiring different installation techniques and careful attention to detail.
Decorative Floor Tiling
Our team installed a striking black and white marble-effect floor featuring traditional diagonal chequerboard patterns, contrasting linear borders and intricate triangular detailing.
The layout was carefully planned to define the customer walkways and service areas, with precision cutting required around columns, walls, entrances and fixed joinery.
Feature Wall Tiling
The wall installation incorporated glossy, terracotta-coloured rectangular tiles laid vertically to create a distinctive feature behind the service counter.
The rich tones and reflective finish provide a striking backdrop to the bakery’s interior, complementing the surrounding timber panelling and contrasting with the monochrome flooring.
Careful alignment and consistent spacing were essential to achieving a uniform finish across the larger wall areas, including around corners, openings and existing architectural features.
Service Counter Tiling
ADKB also carried out the tiling to the bakery’s main service counter, installing slim, vertically arranged white textured tiles across the counter frontage.
The ribbed appearance introduces depth and texture, creating a contemporary finish that complements the marble-effect counter surfaces.
The installation required accurate setting out and detailed finishing around changes in counter height, corners and adjoining surfaces to maintain a consistent appearance along the full counter frontage.
The Finished Result
The completed tiling brings together three distinct finishes to create a cohesive bakery interior.
The decorative black and white flooring provides a strong visual foundation, while the glossy terracotta wall tiles introduce warmth and character. The vertically tiled white counter frontage adds a contemporary architectural detail, tying the different elements together.
From the intricate geometric floor patterns to the precisely aligned wall and counter tiles, the project demonstrates ADKB’s ability to deliver detailed commercial tiling across multiple surfaces within a hospitality refurbishment.
